Man I love Lady GaGa....fact. I had such an amazing day with Abbie! I missed her a lot, lots of fun! Ok I don't really have much else to write. I still need to finish 2 xmas gifts....ha

You know what annoys me? When people say oh let's keep Christ in Christmas!! Seriously? If you go to the orgins of Christmas it was an not holy holiday...where do they think the tree, gifts (Jesus didn't get gifts cos it was his birthday, he got them because he was a KING), singing carols, exchanging cards, and even kissing under the mistletoe, like seriously these are things stolen by the church. I don't understand why people run their mouths without taking like 15 minutes to look up facts.

Yes Christmas is when we remember Jesus' birthday, but we really can't claim it and then to say put Jesus BACK in! ha, he was the spice you add once your taste your food and see that it's gross. Just saying, it annoys me.... It's usually the people who need to remember Christ all the time cos they sure don't act like him ever.

So I'm not being a Grinch, I just hate that as followers of Christ we assume we OWN Christmas! The horrible attitude that freaks out every time someone says "Happy Holidays" or "Seasons Greetings." Just because the holiday is named after Christ, doesn't make it only ours.

We have really borrowed this season with many of its traditions, for the reason to honor the birth of Jesus. ok I'm going to stop my random rant....Christmas is a beautiful time and even if a lot of the tradition was stolen from pagan belief, I'm sure God's cool with that, cos Christmas is all about redemption...

So what I'm just trying to say is that the trees, mistletoe, gifts, and the date aren't the deepest and richest aspects of the celebration of Christmas, or the central symbols of it. And people shouldn't get their panties in a bunch so much and should enjoy family and what as Christmas we remember during this time.

One last thing..."Xmas", X is ancient Greek for Christ! (I mean I learned this my freshman year of college) Come on people all you would have to do google the meaning of Xmas....

Christmas

Well I'm home for Christmas. It was a really stressful trip home. Stopped at a friends house for some quick conversation, which was a nice blessing. Then to Elma's and then home. Bonding with my brothers and I admit a little homesick for Virginia. I think it's more the lack of drama in Virginia and the peacefulness I just feel there. Weird I know...just saying there's always something negative going on here in PA, something to get riled up about and people who make me hate the human race and wish Adam and Eve were zebras....

oh, we need a little Christmas!

Okay, Merry Xmas fools! I have been having a lot of fun and have been super busy in the process. Still have 2 Christmas gifts to make and I have to pack and yadda yadda yadda. I have an amazing weekend! Went and saw the Christmas light at the beach and to botanical gardens. were amazing. Then Saturday morning went to Williamsburg and then Busch Gardens at night, for fun fun fun fun!!!!! Sunday during Sunday School the fire alarm went off. So Karen and I escorted 10 kids outside in the pouring and freezing rain with no coats!!! We all huddled together for warmth, it was cute, haha. Someone was cooking and not doing such a good job of it, but we had to wait for the fire trucks to come. Then Sunday afternoon Sarah and I went to see A Tuna Christmas, which was hilarous!!! I loved it times ten!!!! v. good Christmas play. Ok, I need to go do something productive....

So I was really super sick this week and it really sucked. I hate how am I when I'm sick, I give up, get dramatic, and want to die. Just do maybe it's a good thing those traits only come up when I'm sick, for the most part. Since I've just been laying in bed not much else has been going on. Missed hanging out with some people but I proudly chose my health over fun, which I never do. ever. Today has been good so far, Sunday school, then they had a thank you brunch for us, which I didn't really eat much cos the only meat there I liked was shrimp. But the shrimp was so over spiced I kept gagging a little. That's okay though I already planned to make some rice and asparagus for lunch. I'm going to see the Christmas celebration at church at the 3, and since each one has had about 1,000+ people I'm going to try to go early. Then tonight I probaly won't do much at all, but who knows. Maybe dinner after the play with the ladies. I'm kinda bummed since I'm going home so early for Christmas I'm missing two Christmas parties, oh well guess that's life. So, honestly really nothing else, except I might be a tad addicted to FarmVille.....I swore I would never play but it was so boring lying in bed all week I had to do something. Ok, off to start lunch and put the dishes away! Oh I love this quote!

So I should update! It has been to long. Thanksgiving came and left...So I didn't get to write the cliche I'm thankful for....post. But I will now.

I'm thankful for my Papa, friend, and constant guide and the random and funny ways he speaks to me.

I'm thankful for my mom and grandparents who are great examples to me and help guide me through life.

I'm thankful for my brothers, who are so unique and bring so much joy to life, I definitely don't know what I'd do without those two!

I'm thankful for my best friend Sarah King, a kindred spirit who I feel so comfortable with, who loves and supports me and is nice to me when I'm a crazy beast.

I'm thankful for the abundance of other deep, genuine friendships I have, which have made my life full and my life transitions easier and more bearable.

I'm thankful that I have a job that brings me joy and allows me to growth and use the abilities God has given me.

I'm thankful I am apart of an amazing church where God's word is spoken to me weekly and I am convicted and encouraged each time I go.

I'm thankful for the twists and turns in life that bring you to places you never thought you could go and for the people that have become a part of my life along the way.

I'm also thankful for every experience and decision I have made. I've been through some great experiences, and I've been through some hard ones. I've made some good decisions, but I've also made some bad ones, but without these decisions or experiences I wouldn't be who I am or where I am today, so therefore I am thankful.

So there you have it, my cliche I'm thankful for post....

Okay so this has been a crazy week. A little up and down. School has been really great! Most everything else has been one good. Minus one friend being a downer, negative, clingy, and oh so annoying!! Yes, this sounds sad and mean, but I think she needs to go. I don't like drama, so needs to go, sorry. Like Pastor Eric said last Sunday, "Negative relationships in your live need to either change or dissolve.'' Think it will soon be time for me to "man up.'

My one student apologized this week and said, "I'm sorry Ms. Elise. I didn't mean to break your heart." It was precious and made me remember why I love my job. All for those little nuggets.

I wish I had more to write about. Right now I'm going to watch Project Runway and clean out the Dwight's litter box and let him out of the closet. He locked himself in about 20 minutes ago, ha, silly guy.

weekend roundup

So I am going to write about my amazing weekend! Cos it rocked times ten!!!! Friday I made and ate my first meatloaf ever!!!! It was really good and I got to share it with my dear friends. oh and I also made a pumpkin ice cream cake! Which was good. Then Sarah and I went to see A Christmas carol in 3D which was really good :)

Then my family came Saturday morning. and my pappy came to surprise me!! It was so amazing. we had a really nice and fun day which ended with going to see Say Anything. They were amazing and it was fun. We went to ihop after and it was gooooood.

Sunday we did church and lunch. Then we saw Evil Dead the Musical!! It was SOOO funny!!! Then my family left which was really sad:( But Sarah stayed the night which was really good :)

It has been an amazing week so far and no school tomorrow!!! :) yes yes yes yes!!!

Now with Ceaser satisfied I can do the things that should offend me

I've been having a rough week. Just so scattered brained lately and frazzled. Just not really like myself I guess. Dawn thinks my iron is low, ha. I have been on a Christmas gift making frenzy though! And have been battling my car insurance agency, who said they were going to cancel me because I didn't initial the correct paper...but they haven't sent me a new one yet and I only have 12 days left, to sign and return it or they'll cancel me! So insane. I think I'm going to switch to Geico because I got a quote and I would be saving 80 bucks a month!!! which is amazing!! I'm not even exaggerating! So now I just need to find out the exact date that Nationwide is going to cancel me, so I can start with GEICO the same day. Hopefully they'll be cooperative...cos I also have to see if I can get my money back for my renter's insurance, because I paid for the whole year already, since I did not foresee Nationwide NOT being on my side. Oh well, it'll work out.

ok. So I've been internet free for a week and it has been nice. So I think I'm going to all together cut back a tad. Halloween was v. fun. Went to a party at Rochelle's house, fun stuff. Then Sarah King came!!! :) We had fun, spent way to much money. So church was so amazing today I was kinda mad I had to leave early to teach Sunday School, made me want to go to the 11 o'clock service again. I'm really excited because our church is giving us free devotional books to go along with the pastor's new series about love in relationships. woot woot! Oh Friday at our kid's Halloskate party we won first place for the costume contest!! horray. This is a scattered post. I locked my keys in my trunk. Thankfully Joanne was able to pick Sarah and I up and Sarah had a key to my place. Ok, I'm not in the mood to finish this, just in the mood to wrap Christmas gifts!!! :)

Well I'm trying to blog more...not every night but more. I have been so tired all week it is nuts! I can't tell you how many times during the days this week I caught myself dosing off. So bible study tonight was awesome again. This has been like the best study ever. It's basically is paralleling our lives now with the Israelites lives, when they were lost in the wilderness. There's been a lot of talk about fear and the grasp that fear has on most of our lives. It just has been amazing, to say the least. I stayed like a hour after just talking to ladies. I never talk that long to strangers ha. Just that good. Tomorrow should be a good day. Ms. Dawn is calling off, she has a lot of things on her plate right now that she needs to take care of. So hopefully it will be a good Thursday. Afterwards I'm going to dinner with Dana, we're going to paint, and then back to her place to watch Project Runway. So it should be a fun night. Sadly my dear best friend who I love times twenty is pretty sick, so they'll be no Washington D.C. this weekend. Which makes sense, when you're sick you just need to sleep and relax some days. Ok, well I'm going to go unload the dish washer, put in a load of laundry, and finish watching Ghost Hunters. Busy night aye? ha.

trying to update more for my two fans/ people I love the most :) So tonight I've been working on an iep, and have put about 15 minutes into it. I am seriously lacking paperwork motivation....but at least having motivation in other areas. Did clean up and working on ways to cut back my internet time...picked 3 "non-family" blogs to keep saved and deleted every other one, even perez, which I used to check at least daily. Guess I'm just sick of coming home and heading to my computer first, even when I don't have anything productive to do. I also deleted like over 100 people from facebook, a tad crazy I know, but a lot of ppl were distracting me by their pictures...which was annoying, to spend time investing in people who wasn't returning it. ya know. well my friend just called to go to applebee's. Sooo busy weekend and a definitely fun weekend. Neptune festival was SWEET and I had such a fun time with Dana. Sunday was pretty awesome. I taught and Amber helped me out, which was fun fun fun. I really enjoyed it. After church I didn't do much, but I made my first chicken casserole! And it turned out okay, something to eat for the rest of the week. yeah...now I need to go and put away some laundry and get ready for The Amazing Race. Which I already decided that during I'm going to try to put together my crafting desk, which I am super excited for woot woot! :) Maybe it will motivate me to get started on all the Christmas gifts I need to make....yeah. go Elise go! Have you ever been so sick tired that you drive to Uno's instead of AppleBee's even though your friend is driving right in front of you? that you drank expired milk, even though it must have came out chunky? You thought one of your students were missing when they walked right in front of you? It took 10 minutes to find exodus (the 2nd book of the bible!)? You forgot to fork your peanut butter cookies? You got out cream cheese to put on your waffle? Yes this has been my past few days. Being sick makes me a little crazy...I must admit. I feel really horrible, really really. But thankful I know it will pass. Hopefully sooner, so I stop making a fool of myself :/ But humble pie never hurt anyone.

When I grow up....

So, yesterday I marked a moment of growth in my life. You know a time in your life you're like wow I've really grown up. Well in a small way I noticed yesterday that I grow up a little. I guess there was two ways. I had to make a really crappy decision that I didn't want to, but knew i had to be responsible and do even if it would disappoint a lot of people, including myself. But the real kicker, yesterday someone (names not important, drama=death,ha) sent me a pretty nasty message on facebook, that was just really uncalled for. And all I could do was laugh! A year ago I would have sent a meaner message back, and told all my friends to do the same to this girl and never speak to her again. But all I could do was laugh. It was just so ridiculous to me that someone would do it and try to stir up trouble, just funny. So yes, I guess I've grown up and have just seen more of God's grace in the past year, so some has rubbed off. So that was been my Monday. It seemed like such a long day, but a lot was accomplished.

I've been thinking a lot about drama and major issues that people face in life. I've always been a person who looks at other's lives and try to learn from them so I don't repeat the same problems in life. I've come to a somewhat conclusion, that God never asks us to be perfect. All God asks us to do is to keep our hearts in check so that we will love the things that he loves and hates the things that he hates. Yes, this is wicked hard and some days I have to check my heart four five times a day and I often fail. I really think that if people keep their hearts in check, they won't have perfect lives but they'll have lives full of joy because they are honoring God. This was my conclusion for the messes I've seen around me... Just something I've learned form them and is going to take with me.


In other news, I think one day I'd like to live in a yellow house with a red roof. Just a silly dream I thought I'd share :)

Let's just move to "socialist" Canada

So I try not to be political when it's a non elections year, ha. But seriously 18-29 year olds are the most uninsured age group! So my young friends, why are you not supporting health insurance for your friends? It makes me so confused on that fact alone. I mean friends we really have the most to gain if the current system is fixed and the most to LOSE if it's not fixed. Know who else I don't understand? Fellow Christians who don't think every person doesn't deserves health care. I think you'd change your mind if the shoe was on the other foot. Jesus made time to help all the sick people, even the man lowered down from the roof...and we can't support every person being able to see doctors and get the medicine they need? Health care is a need not a want...should we deny water to every person who's work doesn't give them water? Sounds like a good idea! If you come to my house and don't have a job or one that is supplying you with water, you can have none of my water fool!

people are dying in America from the common cold because they can't go to the doctors. seriously? I mean here in the US we are the richest nation BUT our health care system is ranked 37th! yes 37th, the country with amazingly trained doctors and technology. yes. Ok, I should quite ranting... I just get angry, but that's what I get for watching Fox news and other shows, ha. There's a reason Hannity rhymes with insanity....
yes. I am just as much guilty of taking my own health insurance for granted I know and it is selfish of me. But change takes time even for me. No health care system is or will be perfect, but any improvement will help just a little.

All I can think of lately is when I was student teaching during the block and the teacher was doing a unit on Canada (and talking about their universal health care). A sixth grader asked the teacher why one of her mom's friend died because she couldn't afford the operation. Even a sixth grader sensed the injustice in the world relating to the health care divide. That's sad...from the mouth of babes...aye?

Rocket Ships and School Books

When you think about it, NASA is kinda a big waste of money....I mean how does NASA really help people? I mean it's super cool and everything BUT what good is it truly doing me and my homies, besides giving children whimsical dreams of outer space? Yes, I spent today reflecting on NASA...ha. I also spent a lot of today thinking about how I really feel like I connect with David because we were both our father's least favorite and completely underestimated, I mean Jesse practically laughed at the idea of David becoming King and my dad told me many times I would amount to nothing. BUT David rose above and amounted to something amazing, a man after God's own heart even! And Elise in Virginia Beach you say? Well she's doing ok for herself getting by day by day and always striving to be her best in God's eye.Yes, many thoughts today.

On a random note, some girl from high school, who I haven't who I haven't talked to in 5 years just Imed me and is acting like we've been dear friends forever weird... Especially since I saw her in a mall like 3 years ago said hi and she looked at me and turned her back on me! Maybe she wants to borrow money :/ Ha, she has to go bed now...said she'll talk to me tomorrow...ha. :D I guess we'll see.

So school has been going pretty well. Our classroom looks a lot sweeter this year with one less desk. And doing paperwork seems so much easier with one less kid, even though it breaks my heart he's gone... So nothing new, just doing school work and enjoying being back. I really missed school and Ms. Dawn, I forgot how well we flow together. Ok, time for bed, well the hour time to prepare for bed....

New Sheets Makes Everything Better!!

I bought new sheets yesterday and put them on. It made my life twenty times better, ha! So school is back on track, I'm excited even though I still have a lot of paperwork and such to do! I feel like it's going to be an amazing school year and I can't wait to see what it holds.

Nothing in life goes as you plan and I'm ok with that :) I'm not at all excited for school to start but I'm excited to see my kids and Ms. Dawn. It will be nice to get back into a schedule, who would have thought free spirited Elise would say such a thing?

perfect day

Today was a picture perfect lazy summer day. I loved today, I should mark it on my calender as a perfect day... I woke up early and before my alarm went off. Got a nice shower and just layed on the couch read for a bit and did some other things. Then I went to my church, for the first time in a while because I was away for a while.

Sunday school was amazing as always, I just loved being back in my class and listening to Dave teach and I even participated more then usual, I was that exciting! Favorite moment some said they always forgive easily and Eric said, "Well I think that's situational." Maybe you had to be there but to me hilarious... Then Amber gave me an amazing house warming painting she made, it was so lovely and I was so touched by her kindness, she's a great friend!! Then I talked to Noah for a while and found out I worked with her mom this summer, small world!!

Then I went to "big church" which of course was amazing! It was so refreshing to here such a wonderful pastor again. I loved it and loved the message times ten. Then Sarah and I came back and made some toasted cheese and tomato soup. Which was yummie indeed, even perfect some would say. Then we had some ice cream :)

After our large lunch we took naps and I slept until 7 p.m., yes until 7. It was lovely, just so lovely. After that I woke up and made some of my yummy chicken salad for us to eat tomorrow. Then my best friend made some Dr. Pepper Turkey meatballs, while I saw watching some NCIS. So as you can see it has been a perfect day for me. So not to much of an exciting update, just a perfect day update :) Just a nice day with me and my best buddy, the King.

summer sounds are fading fast....

So summer is almost over, what a sad phrase... I suppose overall is was a pretty sweet summer, with a few horrible hiccup days.

I just had to pay a lot to get my car fixed and I'm pretty sure someone stole my hook for my gps...which stinks, but I don't really know why someone would want the hook part. It's like having a 200 dollar envelope and a 2 dollar envelope full of cash and they take the 2 dollar one. Still being nice while stealing from me.

I'm going to watch The Time Traveler's Wife soon. It's one of my favorite books ever, I hope the movie is just as good.

I kinda want to write a book. A book about a sorority for senior citizens. I dunno why, but the other day I put a ton of thought into. But I know I would never really write a real whole book. I don't have patience or time to do so. Maybe one day when I retire and I'll actually be an older woman, speaking from an older woman's perspective.

Soo went to new york, pretty horrible. BUT had a wonderful time camping with my friends, minus freaking myself out at night that a bear was outside the tent. Was just Sarah King breathing loud each time.

I'm having a serious issue. I started reading Vanity Fair in New York. I read while camping and I'm only on like chapter 4! This never happens, why am I not able to focus and read. Maybe I should see a doctor or get a massage? I like the idea of a massage much better. Maybe...I think I should treat myself to a back to school hair cut. I haven't had my hair really cut in a while.

Shark Week.

Well this week has been amazing! I am so excited to go to New York and then camping with people I love to death and love me back! This week has been crazy and fun and random. Today Sarah and I are going to a corn festival and then an ice cream one! :) My arms hurt from playing drums on rock band last night :)

So I'm sitting here at Panera, well I've been here for 2 hours using the internet and refilling my cup...ha. I'm a bum I know. But yeah, no internet for a while. Not everything has been working out the way I thought, planned, prayed, and wished they would. BUT I'm coming to terms with it all I suppose. I know God provides purposely and perfectly for our lives. So now I'm just hanging out and debating what my next move should be...Definitely taking my time though. I do really like my new place and will love it once I have the internet. Only five more days left of summer school and then I'm off until the 28th! :) Pretty sweet deal aye? Abbie is coming to see me next week and I'm going to get to see Nate and Erika this weekend! So many blessings are coming my way I know. AND I just saw a tall kid walk into a light in Panera! :) ha. I only wish I was in a place where it would be socially acceptable to laugh out loud at him. Next week for summer school we're building a volcano...I'm pretty nervous about this, not going to lie. I've never done it before and to do it with a bunch of kids with Autism, well it should be interesting.

Also, I haven't really unpacked anything since my family left Sunday night. Man I miss them a lot. Well I really miss the hugs...which is crazy I know. But I really only get hugs at church and school, not at home. ha. Well only when I try to hug my lonely cat who follows me around everywhere. I rolled on top of him this morning cos I didn't know he was in bed with me lol.

So I'm off to the gym I suppose, to work it! ha yeah. Go and talk to the old ladies who love me. I'm really glad I enjoy the water aerobic classes at the gym. When I first started in March I was getting very bored just doing the machines...but I didn't want to do a floor class. So it only took stubborn me 4 months to try the water aerobic classes. It's fun, different, and also weird sweating in a pool, but I like it none the less. Hmm nothing else is really new. Some man is hovering around me waiting for fresh coffee....weird-o. I hope he doesn't start a conversation with me. Nothing against him, I'm just not a fan of talking to strangers, I guess cos you don't really get anything from it so I just feel like blah, why did I just do that. Yes, weird I know. I really need to pick up my shot glasses from 2 weeks ago, not like thet're good enough to sell, I just want to get them.

I can't wait to go home in August. I just want to relax. One thing I want to do, just lay in the grass at Elma's. and maybe go to Tobias Animal Farm, with Chad! =) and of course go to my home church :) ha. I really want to go tent camping but I don't see that happening, unless it's in someone's yard.

Ok this girl next to me is really whiney. She works here and is complaining about her hours, cos she wants more time off cos someone is visiting her and she hasn't seen them in 2 months and she needs to catch up with them. DUH Panera! Just your stuff together! The world obviously revolves around this girl. She keeps going on and on and on and on....stop cos now she's making me go on and on and on and on about how annoying she is, thus making me be annoying. Ok. I need to go to the gym so I can get some steam room in before water class.

Well I sign my lease today. I know it is crazy and ridiculous to others. Since the rent is a lot more than my rent now and I don't even know if I'll have a roommate. Yes, I know it seems crazy. But I haven't really been able to explain to anyone that as scary as it is that's ok. I have peace about, well God's given me peace. It'll work out and be okay. I've never been so sure about such a daring move in all of my life. But it'll be okay :)

So I'm going to go and start packing up my car, and start my new adventure in life :) Prayers are still welcomed on this move and situation.

So about today...

I'm not a vain person I swear...but I looked really cute today :) I had my nails did and wore a new skirt and yeah it was cuttttte! But then I went to the pool, my hair got wet, my nail polish all came off, and my skirt kinda clung to my semi-wet legs. and I thanked God for inner beauty! Cos I also looked a hott mess today! :)

Soooo. I am pretty much the worse packer procrastinator ever! Yeah, I did zero packing today, but I did make all the calls I needed to make today and I have to call back 2 people tomorrow. So tomorrow I will just be running around like a mad person, but someone has to do it.

No more internet for a week, well at my house. I probaly will be going to Panera or the library (i haven't been there in forever cos I owe them $3.60 :/ I'll live. I did ask the lady 3 times if she was sure the earliest they could come was next Thursday, I'm sure she thought I was insane. and just may be...

So I thought I would blog tonight since Jonnie yelled at me last time for going 9 days without blogging. And he doesn't even comment! shessh. I feel like I need to drink a gallon of water.

So Monday is D day, we'll see how hard we'll have to work to make next year a good year. ha.

I wanna go home and lay on my mom's couch...weird I know, but I wanna relax with my family. I really miss them and can't believe I haven't seen them since Spring break, I think it was the longest I went without seeing them, but I was so hurt when none of them came down for my birthday. BUT it'll be awesome to see them all again. Now if I could just see my boyfriend one of these days, ha.

A very old friend from high school sent me a random message warning me about a long distance relationship. Cos she was dating some Mormon from Utah that she met online. and he cheated on her and like got married. ha. Yeah, it's kinda different for me...ha people.

Well I'm going to take advantage of my internet at the moment and pay all my bills online before I'm blacked out and make sure everything looks good in the hood. much love.

uggh. So I didn't really sleep last night, but I've been praying and begging God for peace about my current future... lots of issues and things to decide and contemplate.

On a happy note, 9 more days left of summer school! :) Then a month off, which is amazing, even if I don't have money to do anything, ha. One day I will. Hopefully a camping trip, time with friends and family.

Even though I complain about summer school and it's been pretty good. No real complaints. I am so glad to be moving though cos the lady across the hall smokes in her apartment all the time so our building smells like smoke, yuck!

Well, not much else to update on. I've been forcing myself to pack. I offically hate my cats...yeah. They're peeing everywhere, so they're probaly going to be out.
